Phoenix Veterans Day Parade
PHOENIX, AZ – On Veterans Day (11/11) Honoring Arizona’s Veterans (HAV) pays tribute to our Military and Veterans by hosting the Phoenix Veterans Day Parade at 11 a.m. on the streets of Phoenix. “We’re honored to provide such a stellar event to the Phoenix community to honor Veterans on their special day,” said Aaron Dudney, HAV President. “I’ve been with the parade team since 2012 and can tell you they pour their heart and souls into this event to make it memorable for our Veterans. Our Parade Coordinator, Paula Pedene, has been guiding this effort for 20 years and has a special place in her heart for our Veterans. We’ve had our ups and downs over the years, but I can’t imagine the Parade not being here on Veterans Day. It takes sponsors, volunteers our Veterans and military, working together to make it a stellar event. We are grateful to everyone who helps,” he added. This year’s parade theme is “Welcome Home Vietnam Heroes.” The parade typically boasts more than 100 entries, and this year will have a special float with nearly 20 Vietnam Veterans riding on it. The parade will also feature patriotic floats, high school marching bands, JROTC marching units, color guards, Veterans Service Organizations, animals, novelty units and much, much more. Now in its 20th year, the parade is one of the top Veterans Day events in the nation, with tens of thousands of spectators. It is once again being recognized as a VA Regional Event for Veterans Day.
